Old Lahaina Luau
Posted in Reviews on February 7th, 2006The backdrop of the Old Lahaina Luau is the setting sun and by the time you walk in, you have a drink in your hand. It’s a tastefully done luau, telling stories of Hawaii’s history, intermixed with some of it’s mythology. If you want to see firetwirling and other acts of machisimo, then you best look somewhere else. Despite all this there was one nagging flaw, the food. While not entirely bad, a few dishes were good and dessert was very good, most of the dishes were fodder. Of course, it’s a buffet and on that level, I consider it about par for the course (excluding the buffets in Vegas which are sometimes astonishingly good) Drinks were also miserable but free. Overall we did have a good time. The service was excellent and the people were very nice.
